Shpetim Gashi is the Director of the V-Dem Regional Center for the Balkans and Vice President of the Council for Inclusive Governance. His work focuses on governance and political development in transitional countries. He has over 15 years of experience in the Balkans, where he has worked on issues related to human rights, the rule of law, elections, and interstate disputes.

He has also been involved in facilitating informal dialogues between political and government officials across the region. Shpetim holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a master’s degree in international relations from Columbia University.
