Call for Applications: Second Training Module “Youth Media Sprint” – Using Artificial Intelligence and OSINT
Following an exceptionally successful first training, we are opening applications for the second training module within the “Youth Media Sprint: Novi Sad Newsroom Lab” project. This module is dedicated to the application of new technologies in the media and will take place on October 10, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Zenit Books in Novi Sad (Njegoševa 24).
In today’s digital age, understanding and properly using advanced technologies is crucial for every journalist. Therefore, we have prepared two exceptional sessions with top experts:
Educational Session: Using AI – Opportunities, Tools, and Challenges
Lecturer: Bojan Cvejić, media researcher, consultant, and longtime journalist and editor. This session will focus on how to use generative AI tools for research, information processing, and content analysis in everyday work. You will learn how artificial intelligence is changing the way information is gathered and verified, as well as where its capabilities and limitations lie. Special emphasis will be placed on accuracy and responsibility: you will learn how to verify AI-generated information, spot errors, and avoid the risks of disinformation and so-called hallucinations.
Specialized Training: AI and OSINT – Tools for Research and Information Verification
Lecturer: Miloš Katić, OSINT Project Manager at BIRN Serbia with extensive experience in investigative journalism and digital forensics. The focus of this practical training will be on combining AI and OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) techniques. You will discover how artificial intelligence can help in finding, organizing, and analyzing publicly available information. Through concrete exercises and practical work, participants will learn how to use these tools to support the discovery and verification of relevant data.
Who can apply? The training is intended for young people who use various artificial intelligence models, students, young journalists, and members of youth newsrooms from Novi Sad (aged 18 to 35) who want to improve their professional skills and learn how to effectively use AI in their work.
