“A brief reminder. All that is left for us is to go out and vote, for ourselves, for all of us, our children, and our lives in Serbia. Vote as early as possible. Bring your ID card. Take those from your home or neighborhood who need assistance to the polling stations,” says Balša Božović, director of the Regional Academy for Democratic Development, ahead of the snap parliamentary elections on Sunday, October 25.
He points out that Vučić, during this campaign, made every effort to ensure citizens do not trust each other, doing everything to turn them against one another and sow seeds of doubt in everything and everyone.
“We can only win if we show him that he did not succeed in that. We will have a live broadcast on N1, we have Crta, we have an EU observation mission, and we can have full confidence in them. We have opposition election headquarters. Finally, we have solidarity, which is the only thing we have left on that day,” he notes.
He says that on October 25, officially or unofficially, the elections for the President of the Republic will be called, which must be held by the end of December. Božović assesses that it is already certain that the candidate running against the Serbian Progressive Party candidate will win in the first round.
“That president, whoever he or she may be, will give the mandate to form the government to the opposition. Therefore, October 25 is not the end, that is when the end of this fifteen-year madness just begins. Whatever Vučić does or says, he has lost because he himself knows that he can no longer rule with two million people against him. Do not fall for provocations on the evening of the 25th. He is the only one who needs violence. We will finish the first step on the 25th, and the second begins on the evening of the 25th and ends on the evening of December 27, when we get a new president of Serbia. That is Vučić’s end. Then he will lose everything. Put a smile on your face and a pen in your hands – so they don’t spoil this pleasure for us. Best of luck to us on Sunday!” he concludes.
