Resolution of the European Parliament – A Call to the Opposition and All Other Actors
The adoption of the strictest Resolution on Serbia to date by the European Parliament clearly points to a deep crisis of democracy, the rule of law, and media freedom in Serbia. Europe has unequivocally and fully recognized what the citizens of Serbia have been feeling for years – fear, pressure, institutional abuse, and the suppression of free thought.
The Regional Academy for the Development of Democracy considers that this Resolution must be a turning point. It is not only a warning to those in power, but also a call to society as a whole – to wake up, to organize, and to defend fundamental democratic values.
At a time when institutions are captured and the public sphere is controlled by propaganda, the responsibility for change lies with the citizens, civil society, and the opposition.
Therefore, we call on all opposition actors to overcome divisions, egos, and particular interests, and to unite in a common struggle for freedom, justice, and the European future of Serbia.
Serbia can move forward only if it once again becomes a country where truth is not punished, and the voice of citizens is not silenced.
Europe has done its part – now it is up to us.
