First Info Session Held Under the “Youth Media Sprint: Novi Sad Newsroom Lab” Project

The Regional Academy for Democratic Development (ADD), in partnership with Educons University – Faculty of Digital Production, has successfully hosted the first info session dedicated to the upcoming workshop cycle within the project “Youth Media Sprint: Novi Sad Newsroom Lab”.

The event brought together young journalists and students interested in enhancing their skills and actively participating in the local media sphere. The 15 participants in attendance had the opportunity to engage in a highly interactive discussion to learn more about the project’s objectives, working methodology, and expectations.

During the session, a special focus was placed on innovative approaches to reporting. Discussions covered Solution-Based Journalism (SbJ), the application of “Light Watchdog” techniques, media literacy, as well as the ethical use of digital tools and artificial intelligence in modern media production. Participants filled out initial intake questionnaires and demonstrated exceptional motivation for the upcoming mentorship work.

For all registered candidates who were unable to attend this live event, an online info session has been scheduled for June 30.

About the Project: The project “Youth Media Sprint: Novi Sad Newsroom Lab” lasts for 10 months and is implemented within the “MEdIA – Lit” program (Media Enhancement and Information Literacy for Democratic Engagement). This program is implemented by the Centre for Civic Education (CCE/CGO) with partners: the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia, the Tirana Centre for Journalistic Excellence (TCJE), the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in the Republic of Macedonia, and the Atlantic Initiative, with the financial support of the European Union and co-financing from the Ministry of Regional Investment Development and Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations of the Government of Montenegro.
